The Department of Innovative Drug Discovery and Development at Keimyung University was established to educate creative and skilled professionals who can lead the pharmaceutical and biopharma industry, particularly in response to the increasing demand for healthcare and medicines driven by an aging society. The department aims to cultivate leaders and experts with basic knowledge in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology fields as well as develop the skills required by the pharmaceutical industry. Furthermore, we have established an educational curriculum to train talents who can lead the global new drug market and the pharmaceutical industry.
The pharmaceutical and biopharma industry is a field where the demand for preventive and therapeutic drugs is rapidly increasing due to the rise in prevalence incurable diseases such as dementia/Alzheimer’s and cancer. Keimyung University’s Department of Innovative Drug Discovery and Development has state-of-the-art laboratories and research equipment for pharmaceutical and bio research. Our department offers internship programs to enhance practical skills through field experience, as well as cooperative industry-academic projects with industrial companies. Students are highly encouraged to pursue innovative research in new drug development. Through comprehensive and systematic education, our students are well-prepared to make significant contributions to the pharmaceutical industry.
The department is dedicated to preparing students for successful careers in the pharmaceutical and biopharma industries and lead them to further contribute to the future growth and development of this dynamic field. To promote the development of the domestic and global pharmaceutical industry and contribute to the advancement of the industry's processes and structures, the department’s faculties provide integrated education encompassing the entire drug development process. Through this support system, we aim to foster future leaders in pharmaceutical innovation.
